A recipe for friendship

young girl with tree in blossom behind herI took this photo of my girl few years ago. It is one my favourite pieces ever created. She inspires me every day. Today she told me about the recipe for friendship she wrote at school and it melted my heart and I just had to share. I think we all need to follow this recipe for friendship, for marriage, for parenthood.

A Recipe for Friendship (typed by Zosia, 8 3/4 years old)

You will need:

  • 1/2 cup of playfulness
  • 1/2 cup of honesty
  • 1 litre of communication
  • a cup of trust
  • a pinch of jokes and riddles {only a pinch, so you don’t go over the top and hurt someone’s feelings}
  • 100g love
  • 3 giant handfuls of care and kindness
  • a sprinkle of cheekiness

  1. Pour 1/2 cup of playfulness, 1/2 cup of honesty, a cup of trust and 1 litre of communication into a bowl and mix them together.
  2. Add a pinch of jokes and riddles and a sprinkle of cheekiness.
  3. Now, dump in 100g of love.
  4. For the last step, add 3 giant handfuls of care and kindness and mix.
  5. Now pour this into a cup and drink it. When you have, you will become the PERFECT friend!
